New top-level domains began to be used around the world in 2014, with the numbers already exceeding 1,000. With the support of Kyoto Prefecture and the approval of ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers: an international non-profit corporation that manages the Internet), our university decided to adopt the place name "Kyoto". We manage and operate the geographical name top-level domain “.kyoto”. Our university positions ".kyoto" as a social education project and aims to contribute to society by providing Internet information and knowledge to a wide range of residents. We aim to establish a high-quality brand domain that maintains reliability.
Today, while the Internet has become indispensable in all fields, it is also exposed to the risks of cyber-attacks and viruses. In this IT environment of today, we will be holding the following Information Security Seminar in order to get as many people who use the Internet as possible interested in security. We would therefore appreciate your understanding of the purpose of this seminar and your participation.
