The purpose of the Business Domain Research Seminar is to learn about trends in international discussions on Internet governance and registry policies in other countries, and to explore the implications for the creation of new businesses utilizing the “.kyoto” domain and the development of Kyoto society.
Starting from this month, this seminar will be held online each month. All participants, including companies and academics in Kyoto Prefecture, are welcome to attend.
This year, in this first meeting of the Business Domain Research Seminar, we will report about our participation in the NETMundial+10. The NETMundial+10, which was held in Brazil in April, is a conference organized by the Brazilian Internet Steering Committee to discuss Internet governance. Cyber Kyoto Laboratory’s (CKL) Toshiaki Tateishi (Professor at The Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Informatics, Vice President and Executive Director of Japan Internet Providers Association) and Keiko Tanaka (Assistant Professor at The Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Informatics) participated in the conference.
The country and committee are enthusiastic about fostering young human resources related to Internet governance, and local educational and research institutions are focusing on various research and information dissemination.
