With the frequent occurrence of cybercrimes, such as Internet eavesdropping, tampering, and spoofing, individuals and corporations lose important private information that gets transmitted through the Internet. The need for a safe and secure Internet has prompted the adoption of SSL/TLS (Secure Sockets Layer/Transport Layer Security) as the global standard for secure technology. Our university will be co-hosting this upcoming seminar on SSL/TLS with KAGOYA JAPAN.

- Overview
- As mobile devices become more commonplace, so is the expectation of security risks on the Internet. Google Chrome, which accounts for more than half of all web browsers, displays a lock symbol next to the URL for websites that enable SSL/TLS while for website that do not enable SSL/TLS, a warning message will appear to alert the user of unprotected communication. From December 2019 to February 2020, specifications will be changed to block websites that do not have SSL/TLS enabled. In this seminar, we will be going over how we can move towards implementing SSL/TLS as the default web security option as well as the free options available.
